Messianic Worship

How does the Messianic form of religious faith differ from mainstream Christian belief? In a true sense, it is a return to a "whole Bible" basis for belief and worship. The New Testament, comprised of just 27 books, was never to be considered as a "replacement" for the Tenach, or Old Testament, nor are the New Testament writings the sole basis of our faith. The New Testament apostles refer to the Old Testament hundreds of times in explaining the basis of belief and doctrine. Nor has the Old Covenant been completely "abolished" in the New Covenant. It is instructive that the word "New" in Biblical Greek means a refreshed, revised, or "better" covenant. (Heb. 7:19, 22; 8:6; 12:24) Just as a butterfly does not represent an abolishing of his former self (the caterpiller), but a transformation, so too the New Covenant represents a transformed and improved form of the Old, firmly based and built upon the same original Biblical principles. (Heb. 7:12) We have more Messianic teaching available...

What is the Messianic view on Biblical Torah (Old Testament law)? We uphold New Testament teaching and "establish the law" (Rom. 3:31), believing that "not one jot or tittle" is removed for the believer (Matt. 5:17-19). However, under the New Covenant there is a transformation of law (Heb. 7:12). Yah's commands represent principles and precepts for us under the New Covenant, which has been called a "preceptive" view of Torah. Read more about God's law and the New Covenant...

Our Beliefs and Principles as followers of Messiah:

TWELVE PILLARS OF BELIEF

ELOHIM

We believe in the One true Divine El of Israel, the Almighty Elohim of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. His name in Hebrew is YHWH, often written “Yahweh” or "Yahuah" and means the Everliving One. See our Bible Study article on the Sacred Name.

BIBLE

The Scriptures are the divine revelation and revealed Will of YHWH, focusing on His Son, Yahshua (called in mainstream religion "Jesus Christ"). The first and second comings are the key to understanding this book.

MESSIAH

Yahshua is the Son of our Heavenly Father (YHWH). He was the giver of Torah and is the fulfillment of Torah. He is the only way of salvation for mankind. (Acts. 4:12) See a list of Messianic Scriptures fulfilled by Messiah.

HOLY SPIRIT

The Ruach ha'Kodesh, or Holy Spirit, has the essence, power, and mind of YHWH, and makes believers begotten children of the Kingdom of YAH.

MANKIND

Man has no hope for eternal life within himself. He is dependent upon the grace of the Savior and redeemer to be saved. This is done by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in the mind and soul of man.

KINGDOM OF ELOHIM

The Kingdom of Elohim is an everlasting kingdom based upon the Sovereignty of Yah as its King. It consists of the family of Yah, and it is the laws of Yah that bring harmony and unity to this kingdom. The kingdom of Yah will eventually encompass the whole of creation. (Rom. 8:20-21; Rev. 5:13) See our study on this Divine Everlasting Kingdom.

SALVATION

Salvation is the process of believers being transformed into the image of Yahshua. Ultimate salvation will result in the perfect union of Yahshua and His Church.

LAWS OF ELOHIM

Yah’s laws are Spiritual, everlasting, merciful, righteous, and holy. The laws of Elohim are the true liberation of men upon the earth. We must live by every Word of Yah. (Luke 4:4) See how Yah's Divine law applies to us living today under the New and Better Covenant.

ISRAEL

Yah’s covenant family are the houses of Israel and Judah. All families of the earth have been engrafted through faith in Yahshua into that covenant family. (Rom. 11:17-24) We believe that the B'rit Hadeshah (New Testament) cannot be properly understood or taught without an understanding of our Hebrew foundation in the Tenach (Old Testament).

GOSPEL

The duty of believers is to carry the Gospel message, or Good News, to all nations, kindreds, and tongues. This message consists of the truth of: a) Yahshua’s literal return to reign on this earth; b) the grace and justification of Yah; c) sanctification or holiness through His Word and Spirit. d) Yahshua is the Savior of the human race.

FAITH

Faith is the walk of obedience to Yah as well as a fruit of the Holy Spirit. It is this faith in Yahshua that brings forth the fruit worthy for the Father’s Goodwill and Pleasure. It is only by faith in Yahshua that Jews and Gentiles receive salvation. (Acts 4:12)

PLAN OF ELOHIM

Yah has declared the end from the beginning. The story of history is the blueprint and execution of Yah’s Master Plan for the benefit of humanity. This plan is revealed through the covenants, holy days, and prophetic pronouncements from the heart and mind of YHWH Himself.
